Thank you for visiting my site!It all started one morning in October of 2009. I still remember the feelings of getting lost and overwhelmed by the things I had to do as a mom with two kids (a toddler and a baby), a wife, and an employee in a new country. Not to mention the aches in my body and I was getting depressed as well. Then I realized that nothing was going to improve unless I took care of myself both physically and spiritually. So I came back to yoga, this time VERY seriously. I had neck pain for over 10 years and a back ache after the birth of our second child. I was amazed how yoga could help me learn about my body and habits. Then slowly I became the main agent to heal my aches through yoga practice. Now I can share a bit of my experience with others knowing there is a lot more to learn.
Lucky for me, I met Richard Schachtel, the only senior Iyengar yoga teacher in the Seattle area at that time, and started my training. I started with the 200-hour yoga training program at the Center for Yoga of Seattle and was teaching and apprenticing with Richard from 2010 to 2014. In the Summer of 2013 I passed the Introductory 1 Teacher Assessment of the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States (IYNAUS). In the Fall of 2013, I completed the Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training at the 8 Limbs of Yoga Center in Seattle. Then, in the summer of 2014, I passed the IYNAUS Introductory 2 Teacher Assessment and became a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher! I have taught yoga at various locations in Seattle since 2010 and most recently at the Seattle Iyengar Yoga Studio in Ballard where I learned under Shaw-Jiun Wang. Over the years, I have attended a few workshops by senior Iyengar teachers, like Laurie Blakeney, Joan White, Mary Reilly, John Shcumacher and more. Fall 2016, I have moved to Lubbock, Texas where I continue my journey on the path of yoga.
