Yoga Jari

Welcome to Yoga Jari - a place for yoga!

My name is Huijung Campbell (Kim). I am a certified Iyengar yoga teacher in Lubbock. I believe everyone can do yoga to create balance in their body, which has a positive effect on the mind, which in turn nourishes the spirit: the true being of oneself. I want to create a "Jari" (자리) which, in Korean means "place," for everyone to do yoga.

Here are some reviews from my students:

" I've been doing Iyengar yoga since 1999, and Huijung is one of the best teachers I've ever had. What makes a great yoga teacher? Well, it's a recipe that contains mostly yoga expertise gleaned from years of practice. But that's not all. It also includes wisdom, patience, and compassion. And don't forget a healthy dose of kindness and a pinch of humor. Huijung beings all of those qualities to each yoga class.

I have been attending Huijung's classes at two different Seattle yoga studios for about three years and her classes are consistently excellent. She packs tones of poses into a 1.5 hour class, and is a great at teaching a class with students of all levels. Huijung is adept at modifying poses to fit students at every level and  with all body types. She is especially encouraging of beginners, and is quick to point out progress when she sees it.

I am an avid backpacker, so I tend to do damage to my knees, ankles, hips, and shoulders every summer. I spend the following winters with Huijung fixing those body parts through my yoga practice. Huijung showed me a special set of poses to fix my knee issues, and it's simple enough that I can do it at home in about 10 minutes. Huijugn has even convinced me to practice some of my most challenging poses at home!"

"Huijung is an excellent teacher. Her classes are an ideal blend of technique, work, and well-earned relaxation. Each class has a unique focus, and Huijung takes her students through a deliberate progression so that they build up proper technique, culminating in a yoga pose done better than ever before. Students experience real work and build new strength, but also experience deep relaxation along the way, in a very rewarding alteration. Huijung makes the experience special with her care, attention to each student's individual needs, and good humor. Don't miss the chance to learn from Huijung.

"Huijung is an excellent teacher, and she's also a lovely person. I was happy to have her as my instructor for the Tuesday through Friday 5:30am monthly intensive classes. Not only did she welcome her students with a warm, welcoming smile at that crazy early hour, she helped each of us to feel confident in our abilities at every turn. Huijung has an innate ability to pinpoint and correct; she gives excellent feedback and constant encouragement to help students grow in tier practice, at their own pace. On my very first day, she identified my tendency for hyper-extending my knees in standing poses. She helped me to be aware of it and to effectively modify those poses.

"Huijung is an excellent yoga instructor. She is friendly, approachable and truly cares about her students and their well-being. Her training in the Iyengar system means that she understands the importance of precision and alignment in each pose. She remembers the fine points of each students' strengths, struggles, and modifications from class to class. She is encouraging but firm, and has a gift in knowing how to help students advance past physical and mental blocks in their more difficult areas. Huijung's classes are challenging and fun!"
